I cannot believe I used to think that I could dive into the makeup world without makeup brushes. Brushes were so expensive and every time I would think about it I went back to using beauty blenders. I know, beauty blenders are also part and parcel of the excellent blenders but have you tried high quality brushes? I would assume you are not ready to fall in love because of all the commitments.
Makeup brushes have become such a necessity in the makeup industry but nobody tells us that quality makeup brushes form the foundation of professional makeup. In a quick chat with some of my favorite makeup artists, they confessed that they heavily invest in makeup brushes because if the quality is low, the finished look becomes undesirable and when high, the latter. In the midst of a lengthy conversation with one of them, he caught a whiff of my unending brush envy and the conversations ran from the types of brushes you should own to the importance of purchasing high-quality makeup brushes and so we decided why should we not share that information?
Some of the very essential makeup brushes include kabuki brushes for foundation, double-edged brush for the eyebrows, eyeshadow brush, concealer brush, blending brush, fan brush, contour brush, and powder brushes. All these take up a specific shape that helps with identifying them and fulfilling their roles.
How do you tell if makeup brushes are of high quality?
Although there are some fundamental features that apply to almost all the brushes, quality is not part of them. Makeup brushes can be made of synthetic fiber like most foundation brushes or natural fiber like powder brushes. However, the qualities of these materials may vary from one brand to the other. When choosing a high quality makeup brush, the texture should be the first consideration. The bristles should be soft and held securely by a metal ferrule to prevent shedding. The bristles should also be firm, stiff, and dense to create a smoother finish.
Here are some of the reasons why you should invest in a high-quality makeup brush set.
1. A good quality makeup brush improves your facial skin health.
As mentioned earlier, good quality makeup brushes should have a s oft texture. When the rush bristles are rough, they tend to poke the skin leading to inflammation. Inflammation may lead to a reaction that causes redness or bumps that may not just sit well with your makeup. Having a soft foundation brush or any other brush soothes the skin preventing an immune response. This way, your skin remains rash and pimples-free.
2. A good makeup brush set will save your coins
It is believed that the higher the quality, the higher the price. This might be true and also untrue. Quality is not determined by price but high quality raw materials tend to be quite costly. However, tread carefully when it comes to choosing brushes according to brands. You might just end up buying a brand instead of quality makeup brushes. That aside, buying a quality brush will save you the need to replace brushes every other time because who doesn’t know poor quality does not last long. Have you ever been in a scenario where you were forced to replace something since it spoilt quickly because it was cheap, or low quality? Now you relate, eh?
3. A high-quality brush set will take your makeup game to the next level
When it comes to taking your makeup level to the next level, it revolves around the blending, blending and blending! Using the right tools and products to put on your makeup and ensuring that the tools are of good quality will improve your makeup application process. These factors are contributed by how good your makeup brushes are. The higher the quality, the better the blend.
There is more to it on makeup brushes than just the quality. Yes, your makeup brushes can be of immensely good quality but do all of them have the finishing right? Most of the quality brushes actually do but knowing the latest forms of brushes that effortlessly bring out the best finish is also a good idea. For instance, initially, a concealer brush with average to good coverage was the small flat brush but have people not checked in to the silicon one?
